I recently personally attended the International Federation on Ageing, IFA 14th Global Conference on Ageing on August 8-10 2018. There was also an invitation only, Canadian session on August 7th. The organization kindly gave me an invitation. I happily paid for the rest.
While most of the conference was interesting, lectures and discussions on the challenges of the aging process, I was also able to get a few ideas that could be used in our Riding.
Fortunately I also had a chance to have a brief meeting with the Seniors’ Minister, Ms. Filomena Tassi. I later received the following email from Minister Tassi’s special assistant:

Good morning Mr. Wallace,
I understand you had the opportunity to meet and speak with Minister Filomena Tassi on Wednesday in the course of the IFA 14th Global Conference on Ageing at Ryerson University.
I wanted to reach out briefly in my capacity as the Minister’s contact person regarding Ontario issues and stakeholders. I invite you, should you have issues or concerns in the future, to not hesitate to reach out to me directly.
Thank you in advance for your support,
Colin Lalonde Special Assistant – Ontario Desk, Operations and Planning
At the Conference, what were some of the ideas did I get for a seniors/elders group in the Riding? Among those ideas were:
- Riding info walks for Federal Liberal Seniors – get to know your Riding!
- Seminars and round table discussions on how FLP Seniors can contribute to electing our MP during an election.
I’ll look forward to hearing from PHP EDA Seniors. email@example.com.
